Sun Line - Gold

Gold came into my work after brass and silver. It arrived when people started asking me about engagement and wedding rings, and at the same time it connected to something I had wanted for a long time.

Working with gold felt like arriving at a material I had been moving toward for years.

When I first started using it, I was nervous. I was also aware that I had reached a point where I could work with a metal like this. That awareness brought a strong sense of pride and fulfillment, because it marked growth.

Gold has warmth and intensity. Its color is strong and present, shaped by the alloy I work with. It holds light and brings a sense of openness. For me, it naturally connects to ideas of abundance, flow, and awareness.

When I think about gold, I think about expansion. About allowing things to take space. About standing behind decisions and forms without hesitation.

Within the Material Lines, the Sun Line comes after grounding and inward reflection. It is the point where what has been learned internally starts to be expressed outward.

Historically, gold has been used by cultures to mark importance, value, and transition. That history is still embedded in the material. I don’t reference it directly, but I feel it when I work.

People who choose gold often care deeply about material. They are drawn to durability, quality, permanence, and what it represents over time.

For me, working with gold is tied to confidence and responsibility. It needs clarity and commitment. It also brings a deep sense of satisfaction.

The Sun Line continues to be about growth, letting my work be visible, and standing fully behind what I have been building for years.
