Material Lines

An inner structure behind the work.

The Material Lines are not a system I designed upfront. Instead, they formed slowly, while working.
Over time, I realised that different metals I work with don't just behave differently, but they place me in different inner spaces. They connect me to different time layers, different ways of sensing the world, and different directions of attention.

These lines help me understand what draws me to certain materials again and again.
They don’t define the pieces, and they’re not meant as explanations. They simply reflect how material, emotion, and perception meet in my work.

Terra Line

Grounded · Warm · Tactile

The Terra Line is rooted in ancient worlds and early human cultures. Brass connects me to myth, memory, and a sense of origin, while the forms move freely between archaic and almost futuristic. This line holds weight, presence, and a strong physical connection to material.

Moon Line

Stillness · Intuition · Reflection

The Moon Line is cooler and more inward-facing. Silver brings clarity, reflection, and a reduced visual language, where form and proportion become more important than texture. This line is about observation, containment, and awareness.

Sun Line

Vitality · Radiance · Embodiment

The Sun Line carries an outward, expansive energy. Gold connects to ancient royal and ceremonial cultures, to visibility, value, and presence. This line represents embodiment, confidence, and conscious expression.

Serpent Line

Transformation · Transition · Threshold

The Serpent Line exists between states. By combining silver and gold, it brings together inward reflection and outward movement. This line speaks about change, tension, and moving between worlds rather than settling into one.

How the material lines function

The Material Lines are not something I expect people to consciously engage with. They exist silently behind the work, shaping how pieces take form. They help me stay connected to the deeper reasons I’m drawn to certain materials and gestures.
If someone feels naturally drawn to one line more than another, that connection is enough.
There is no correct way to read them.
